U13/14 Friendly v Queenswood - Won by 5 wickets
Thursday 17th May

Queenswood 40-5
Fadrique 1-4 / Brando 1-4
Beau 41-5
The year 8 and 9 team won their inaugural outdoor match with some accurate bowling backed up by sound fielding. Opting to field first Tian and Anna got the team off to a steady start denying the oppostion runs but it wasn't until the 5th over, and Rebecca Bainbridge's first ball, that the break through came. Smart work from Biggs at point saw the Queenswood opener run out for 4. A steady flow of wickets shared amongst the bowling attack restricted Queenswood; Libe Fadrique putting a timely end to their big hitter.
Needing a touch under four an over Beaumont got off to a slow start with Anna Biggs being bowled in the first over. Queenswood however leaked constant runs in extras so though Beaumont were themselves not scoring the score began to mount. Five wickets down with 2 overs to play 8 runs were required and a tense finish seemed in store. However 3 wides, six runs, later the match looked more comfortably in the home sides grasp. Duely with 3 balls to spare the winning runs were scored.
This was a great start for what is the first of many games and if the team can bring it's batting up the standard of the bowling then also the first of many victories.

We arrived at Roundwood Park School early in the morning for the tournament, which was being held in their sports hall. We played two matches and the final. The first match was against St Georges. We won the toss and we decided to field. St Georges had strong batting but our bowling and fielding got most of their team out as well as stopping them hitting as many runs as they could. Our strong batting ensured our win. The second match was against Francis Bacon and we carried on with our strong performance to win against them.
In the afternoon we played the final against Marlborough. Unluckily we lost the toss and we batted first. Anna and Olivia started the batting both of them getting 15 runs. Even though we played well it was quite tight but our great fielding and bowling made us win 62-36 with us getting all of their players out.

Now we are in the regional final with a good chance to win that too.
